Baby soft hands

I think I've found my new favorite hand cream - Neutrogena's Fast Absorbing Hand Cream. I actually just started using it today, and I can't stop touching my hands. They are so soft! I keep this at work, and use a pea-size amount on my hands after every washing. There is a slight sunscreen smell to it, even though there is no sunscreen in it. The smell is not overpowering though, and so I'm fine with it.

I do love my L'occitane shea butter hand cream, but for the price, this one is a good alternative.

Bella scratches me

I've wanted this Bella jacket from j.crew for awhile. Love the collar details, and the fit of it. I've been admiring it from afar, but I was finally able to try it out in person. I'm petite, but the store only had regular sizes. I tried on the wool version, and the fit was just as expected - beautiful! The sleeves hit at just the right spot, and the bottom hit right at the top of my hips. My only reservation, and a big one at that, is the fabric. Wool is great, but not when it's itchy. It's quite rough and I had to take that jacket off quick. There is a lining on the inside, but the collar is unlined and if you turn it up (which you must, in order to see the ruching detail), then those tiny wool hairs will tickle your neck.

They do have this jacket in velvet, but they didn't look as nice, and I'm not a big fan of velvet anyway, so I didn't even try it on. Hopefully j.crew will make it in a different, more gentle fabric. Then I'll snatch it up right away.

Simply Vera makes me wake up early

I've been eagerly awaiting the Kohl's Simply Vera collection for awhile. I almost forgot that it even debuted this weekend! Luckily I remembered the night before, but checking the website made me panic some more over the thought that maybe other girls were just as eager to snatch these pieces up. My beloved coat was already sold out in size S, so I told myself to get up on my normally lazy Sundays and arrive at Kohl's at its 10am opening.

10:15am, and I saw the parking lot was fairly empty. I entered the store and didn't see any girls running around the store. In fact, it took me a little bit to even find out where the collection was. I first searched for my coat, and found mediums and larges on the racks. A mannequin was right next to the rack, displaying the coat, and luckily it was a small. The material of the coat feels a little rough, but the style makes up for it. I think the black is a more elegant color, but the ash goes well with jeans for a nice daytime look. It's a nice, lightweight coat for fall. I would watch out if you're curvy in the hips. This coat will accentuate it.

I didn't find much else to lift off the rack, except for this dress. The store didn't have this print, but instead it came in black with a light gray belt. I tried it on and loved it. The shape of the top I think would complement any shape. It's a very lightweight dress, and I don't think will wrinkle much when you stuff it in your suitcase.

Other pieces in the collection didn't excite me as much. The handbags seemed cheaply made. And it's still too early to think about gloves and beanies. Her towels were soft, though, and came in some nice colors. But nothing to go whoa over. So I'll stick with my coat and dress, and keep an eye out on any more pieces that will be released.

I can cry all I want to

She-Laq by Benefit.
When I heard about this product, I thought no way it could do so much. It promises to hold your mascara, eye makeup, and lipstick in place. Since I do have extremely oily eyelids and my eyeshadow disappears after 2 hours I was excited to try it out.
I really like how the bottle comes with miniature brushes. My mascara stayed on. My eyeshadow and lipstick mostly stayed. The only complication I had was I accidently put too much over my eyeshadow and my eyelids began sticking and creating weird creases. I figured out this She-laq works since it has some sort of adhesive to keep makeup on the face. But other than that snafu, I highly recommend.
You can get She-laq from Sephora ($28)
