So I finally thought I'd do a major cleanup of my closet. I came out with huge piles of clothes to donate, but there was another smaller pile I decided to try to sell at Crossroads. I only chose clothes with some popular labels - Seven jeans, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Abercrombie, H&M, etc.
They took most of the stuff I brought, and told me my total was $125. Guess how much of that I got? $43. I opted for cash instead of store credit, so I only get 35% of what they sell the items for.
Sure I get the cash right away, but I should've just donated it all. It's tax deductible, and when the clothes are sold, the profits go to a good charity. Plus, I'd come out feeling good. Because even though the clothes Crossroads rejected were first rejected by me, I don't like having a wannabe-80s-hipster-teen telling me my clothes aren't good enough for their store. Grrr.
I still have another bag of clothes to get rid of (closet cleaning takes multiple evaluations), so Goodwill here I come!
